Position: The Japanese have nearly the perfect position -- as almost everything has fallen to their onslaught.  Pearl Harbor, captured.  Midway, Singapore, The Philippines, Dutch Harbor -- all captured.  Only one problem -- Guadalcanal is still in Allied hands despite repeated attempts to capture the airstrip.  Worse, last turn Allied aircraft flying from that very base thwarted the Japanese navy and its amphibious forces.  And now the Allied counterattack is about to begin!

Special Rules: Prior to play, the Japanese player places units in "Flexible IJN Forces" at any owned base or port.  Then the Allied player does likewise.  Then begin with Turn 6 IJN patrols.  Missing amphibious units and LBA return to play on Turn 7.

Designer's Notes: When the Allies lose Pearl Harbor, their main base of operations becomes Samoa.  When that happens, the passage through the South Pacific to Indonesia becomes a vital link in any hopes for victory.  In this scenario, the USN starts with good movement options.  Can the IJN shut them down?  Or will the vital resources of Indonesia or the Hawaiian Islands fall into enemy hands?
